Singapore – In December 2021, Tremco CPG Asia Pacific (APAC) volunteers participated in a virtual charity race - Santa Run for Wishes – to raise money for the Singapore Make-A-Wish Foundation. A total of SGD7,700 was raised and donated to help make the wishes of two children come true.

On 3rd February 2022, one of Tremco CPG APAC’s beneficiaries, 14-year-old Axel who is diagnosed with Hodgkin Lymphoma, had his wish of becoming a commercial aeroplane engineer become a reality.

On his wish day, Axel and his family arrived at the Airbus Asia Training Centre (AATC) in a chartered vehicle. Upon arrival, Axel was presented with a special pass personalised with his picture and the words ‘Captain Axel’.

After attending the safety briefing by the centre’s Chief Engineer, Axel was given the opportunity to conduct checks and carry out rectification works on the A380 Airbus flight simulator, mimicking what an engineer would do on a real aeroplane.

Under the guidance of a flying instructor, Axel flew around Singapore and also to Hong Kong in the simulator. At the end of the session, he was presented with an honorary certificate for his flight experience, and also a model of the A380, which is Axel’s favourite aeroplane model.

“We are so heartened to know that the money we raised gave Axel and his family this amazing once-in-a-lifetime experience,” said Kang Min Joo, organiser for Tremco CPG APAC’s participation in the charity race.

She continued, “We hope it was everything he wished for and more.”
