Seoul, Korea — Tremco Construction Products Group (CPG) Asia Pacific (APAC) was granted the Low Carbon Footprint certification for the SG300 Single-Component, Neutral-Cure Silicone Sealant earlier this year.

The certification by the Korea Environmental Industry and Technology ascertains that the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions produced from the entire life cycle (manufacturing, transport, distribution, use and disposal) of the SG300 silicone sealant is less than the average emissions of products in the same category. In Korea, construction works for new commercial buildings are required to have green building certification, and such products certified with low carbon footprint contribute to a building’s green points.

SG300 is a versatile, high performance single component silicone sealant which reacts with atmospheric moisture to produce a flexible silicone rubber. It is ideal for a wide variety of demanding applications such as 4-sided structural glazing curtain walling, and joint within curtain/window systems.

Manufactured in Asan, Korea, SG300 is Tremco CPG APAC’s latest product to be certified Green, reflecting the company’s strong commitment to promoting sustainability through R&D. Currently, Tremco CPG APAC offers building envelope solutions from its large portfolio of ‘Green’ and ‘LEED certified’ products ranging from resinous floor coatings to insulation EIFS systems, sealants, and waterproofing.

With more products in the pipeline awaiting green certification, Tremco CPG aims to meet the demand by building developers and architects to build and design climate-resilient infrastructure that will reduce GHG emissions and contribute to world-wide sustainability efforts.
